En el año 2.007 el equipo de organización de competiciones se desplaza a Granada para colaborar con la RFAE en la celebración del Campeonato de Mundo de Vuelo Acrobático WAC 07, el tercero que organiza el club, se desarrollo en la base militar de Armilla, y constituyo otro éxito organizativo y en lo deportivo Ramón Alonso gano el oro, y el equipo gano la plata.
A finales del 2.007 el club pierde una de sus dos aeronaves, concretamente la EC-IIQ, al impactar durante la fase de aterrizaje contra un montón de tierra que se encontraba en el mismo borde de la pista en servicio y procedente de una zanja de las obras de la nueva pista y en el área de seguridad de la pista, la perdida es afortunadamente solo material, sin que el piloto sufriera heridas de gravedad, pero la perdida de la aeronave produce un enorme daño en el patrimonio de nuestro club.
Afortunadamente nada es eterno, aunque en ocasiones así lo parece, por fin en julio se produce un verdadero y añorado punto de inflexión es la inauguración del nuevo Aeropuerto y el nombramiento de un nuevo Director de Villafria, pronto vemos aterrizar un avión de Iberia que inaugura el aeropuerto.
A partir de este momento se produce una reactivación de la actividad de formación de pilotos, aumentando el numero de alumnos y del numero de horas, sin duda derivado a de la franca colaboración con el nuevo aeropuerto y su dirección. El Ayuntamiento de Burgos junto con las demás administraciones forman un órgano para el desarrollo de la actividad del Aeropuerto de Burgos, y piden la colaboración de nuestro club con ilusión se trabaja ya en traer actividades a nuestra ciudad.
